Top Tips on Candle Care

To get the most out of your scented candles and keep them smelling and looking great will require a bit of TLC. By following these simple steps you will prolong the burn time & burn the candle to its full potential.

Wick Trimming

Before lighting your new candle you want to ensure that the wick is trimmed down to 1/4". if the wick is too long this will cause the wax to not pull up and the flame will go out.

Trimming your wick will also aid in an even and clean burn on your candle through out the use of it. I would advise investing in a candle trimmer, these are super easy to use and will help to cut the wick level especially in those more difficult to reach containers.

First Burn is Vital!

To ensure you get the best results out of you candle, Your first burn is the most important. You want to ensure that you light your candle and let it burn for long enough to allow the first layer to fully melt. This it to ensure you don't create any tunnelling and gives your candle an even burn which will result into not wasting any wax.

Keep it Clean

It is very important to ensure you keep your candle clean. By this I mean making sure no wick or matches fall into the candle pool, this will cause your candle to smoke and your candle will start to smoke instead of being able to smell your lovely fragrance.

By not trimming your wick after every burn, it will likely fall into the melted wax and be a potential fire hazard. This often leads to an unpleasant smell.

This step is one that most people will ignore but will help your candle last longer and smell new each time.

4 Hour Burn Time

To reduce any issues or damage, It is highly recommended only burning your candle for 3-4 hours at a time.

Safety

Always keep candles and naked flames away from children and pets. We recommend placing the candle before lighting it on a heat resistant safe place and to also never pick the candle up until it has fully cooled down to avoid burning yourself.

Never place a candle on or by a window or place that causes a draught, also keep candles at least 10cm apart from other candles and away from other flammable objects.
